Tommy and Amy McDaniel

The McDaniel's and Belin's have caught Wedding Fever! Wedding 2 of 4 was this past weekend in Andalusia, AL. It is always such a treat to spend time with family and the McDaniel's have such a tight knit family. We had a blast spending time with them, hearing stories, laughing :) The wedding was beautiful and we all had a wonderful time. Congratulations, Tommy and Amy!

WE'RE MOVING!!!

Roy and I have some exciting news! :) After we felt the Lord leading us to not work with Campus Outreach, we began praying about other options. After weeks of praying and considering a number of different options, we have made a decision. Roy will be attending Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Orlando, FL beginning August 3. He will pursue a degree in divinity in hopes to become a pastor. We are so excited! Roy has been accepted and has also received some financial aid. Huge blessing!! We plan to move to Orlando in mid-July. PLEASE pray for us during this stressful time. I will be looking for a full-time job very soon! We are also in the process of finding an apartment that is within our price range (very low!) haha. We are excited about the move. We made a trip to the seminary a few weeks ago and fell in love with the Orlando area. We are praying for deep friendships, a good church, a job, fellowship/community!! I have a few more weeks of work left here in Troy and a week of vacation where we are planning to take a trip back to Orlando to find a place to live and look around the area some more. We will keep you posted!Come and visit us in SUNNY FLORIDA!

Remembering Brasil

I spent the summer of 2007 on an International Training Project with Campus Outreach in Belo Hortzonte, Brasil. Our purpose was to spend time on the college campus in Brasil, get to know the students, make friendships, and work towards have conversations about spiritual things in hopes that the students would begin to investigate Christ. Lately, I have been thinking about that experience and yesterday I received a phone call from my dear friend Shuri from Brasil. Shuri has an amazing story! When I was in Brasil I spent a lot of time with Shuri and her friend on the campus of UFMG in their P.E. department. Shuri spoke VERY little English at that time and communication was extremely difficult. Many, many conversations took place with Shuri about Jesus. It was remarkable to see how her heart began to change as the Holy Spirit took her heart of stone and gave her a heart of flesh. She is now a BELIEVER and is sharing her faith on campus with other students. Since the summer I met her in 2007, one of her sisters has become a Christian and both of her parents are investigating a relationship with Christ. Please pray for Shuri, her family, Belo Horizonte, and the country of Brasil. Pray that God would raise up laborers! Also, Shuri will be graduating from her university this year. Pray that the Lord would give her clear direction on what her next steps should be. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have had the opportunity in Brasil to get to know Shuri and her family. She is now not only my friend, but my sister in Christ. What a blessing!

The past week has been miserable for both Roy and me. I have been sick with a UTI and was pretty much on the couch or toilet for about a week. Roy has been such a great nurse this week, making a number of trips to get my prescriptions filled and run to the grocery store for Gatorade, Sprite, Ginger ale, and crackers. Neither of us got much sleep. After three trips to the doctor and two shots of pretty powerful antibiotics, I began to feel much better. THANKFULLY, I made it down to Gulf Shores Saturday to be a bridesmaid in my friend Molly’s wedding. I was so sad that I wasn’t able to make it to any of the other wedding festivities due to sickness, but I made it to her BIG DAY. It was great to see and spend time with good friends. Roy and I are still waiting for some things to fall through. We have been faithful to pray and trust that the Lord has a perfect plan for our life. Troy is incredibly lonely and we have spent many nights and weekends watching movies via our Netflix subscription, playing Wii, or playing Monopoly. We are in dire need of friendships with people our age. Please continue to lift us up in prayer as we wait for the Lord.
